Threats to Scotland's Rainforest
Images that show the threats to Scotland's rainforest including
-invasive rhododendron & others, within the woodland, might be on banks, along roadsides, gardens, where it has been cleared, re-growing or re-invading
-planted ancient woodland (conifers growing amongst native species)
-over-grazing (i.e. a lack of regeneration but could be of livestock grazing, deer fencing or show how close open / grazed land is to the rainforest)
-under-grazing – dense birch thickets shading mosses and lichens
-oak monoculture or even-aged remnant/old oak and birch
-isolated trees outside woodland but around the rainforest (we want to show the potential to re-connect rainforest patches on a wider landscape scale - trees are an important way in which wildlife can spread)
-disease (ash, phytophera etc.)
-nitrogen pollution
-inappropriate development
