'The Double Cuts'; Western Swing of the best kind.
Love that band. The band leader Jamie Oliver is one of the rare performers of Western Swing in these parts. They have quite a following, so it's sometimes hard to get in the Cameron House to hear them. 'Double Cuts' play very danceable music, so the small floor at Cameron gets busy quickly. From left: Alanna Jenish -fiddler from Peterborough, Raha Javanfar - vocals, fiddle, Jason Jones - guitar and leader Jamie Oliver - vocals, guitar. Also in the band is Michael Eckert - pedal steel, Gabe Kong - guitar, Matt Coldwell- bass, Bruce McKinnon- drums, plus the amazing Angie Hilts (piano, vocals). The audience is cross generational; this time it included few moms, as it was Mothers Day.
