Lenka Lichtenberg creator of "Thieves of Dreams".
Lenka found her grandmother's Anna Hana collection of poems from pre WWII and some from her internment in Concertation Camp 1942-1945. It was just in 2016 and she had no idea that these booklets existed. Lenka, originally from Prague, turned many of the poems into songs, some sung in original, some translated. Lichtenberg was a child star in Prague, but left at 18 (via Denmark) to Vancouver, Canada. Now here for decades, she is successful singer, songwriter and created excellent theatrical and musical performance "Thieves of Dreams" from the found poems and diaries.
Performed with some of the best musicians in the city: Fern Lindzon-piano, Vocals; Joe Phillips- bass; Rebekah Wolkstein-violin; Auri Fell- saxophone, ukulele, vocals, percussions; Lenka Lichtenberg- vocals, keyboard, harmonium. Her harmonium is quite unique instrument, this is the only time, I seen someone play it.. I wanted to ask her about it after the concert, but she was too occupied.
