Sprinting past Machynlleth

Class 150 Sprinters were still a bit of a novelty on the Cambrian in May 1989, at least to us visitors, but I’m surprised how many photos I took on a trip covering the line between Pwllheli and Machynlleth.

150128 is seen here at Machynlleth station having arrived from Pwllheli. The station canopy has since been replaced by a nice glazed example and the footbridge I took this photo from was replaced in 2016 with one equipped with lifts, and the original donated to the Cambrian Heritage Railway.
