Caledonian Extension tour - 9
LCGB NW regularly arranged railtours to Glasgow with optional “extension” mini tours to some interesting routes before returning south in the evening. On 6th March 1982 this arrived in Glasgow Central behind 85023 where 20039 + 20152 backed on for a tour of Ayrshire.
The tour reversed at Mauchline Jct but 20152 was struggling and we stopped alongside Ayr depot to swap it for 20089 although it was pointing the “wrong way”.
Here 20039 + 20089 have arrived back at Glasgow Central ready for 85023 to take the final leg of the tour south.
