Minorities in Turkey is a primary issue since the establishment of Turkish Republic. Turkey is a country which is a piece of a collapsed empire. Minorities in Turkey are divided into two groups that are religious minorities and ethnic minorities. In the Ottoman Empire, there were such groups that stayed in welfare, also they could be even a grand vizier. However, in the new state, the nation became much more important.
