CMAX dash layout
Taken from the rear seats. The front windshield is huge (55"x38") and it shows from this view. I'm still not sure how I feel about the vertically aligned air vents. Note that my CMAX has the SEL trim package and option 301A (SONY radio + nav), the dash on an SE will look different. Further note this is a US C-Max, only hybrids so far and only auto transmissions.
There is a lot of overlap between the 3 MFDs (multi function displays), the steering wheel and the physical controls. For example, the radio can be at least partially or wholly controlled from the steering wheel, the right hand MFD, the center touch screen MFD, AND the physical controls below the center touchscreen MFD.
Here, the touchscreen is displaying the map used by the nav system (optional feature we got as part of the 301A package). You can also get some nav features on the right hand driver MFD.
Even though we got the 'black' interior, you can see that above the level of the window sills Ford switches to a white color scheme-- which I thought was pretty cool BTW.
One slight beef-- there is no gear indicator on/next to the gear shift-- you can only tell what gear you are in by looking at the dash. Normally this is OK, except when the wheels are angled when you park and the steering wheel spokes block your view of the gear indicator.
