VFA-34 is part of CVW-2, flying off USS Ronald Reagan, CVN-76. The Blue Blasters are based at NAS Oceana in Virginia, but are seen here coming in to land at Naval Air Station North Island.
Note that this bird has one centerline and one wing fuel tank. I've read accounts by Hornet pilots that call this configuration 'goofy gas.'
