Diffused light

I was tossing out an old lamp and wondered if I could make any use of the shade as a diffuser.Not sure if it can but I think it gave a nice effect when I fired the flash through it.

Speedlite YN460 at its lowest power setting sitting inside the shade facing directly forward. Flash was approximately 5cm from the front of the shade.
