56006 NATIONAL RAILWAY MUSEUM, YORK 3/6/2004
On pristine condition at the very wet Railfest at the National Railway Museum, York, is EWS owned 56006. The beautiful looking was offered to the NRM as part of the National collection. But as is the way with the chaps at York it was deemed not to fit in with the museums plans and so was rejected. Luckily the loco did enter preservation.
