Royal Life Saving Society Medal

The Royal Life Saving Society Medal, awarded (engraved) to A. McCall, September 1947 when he passed various testing proving proficiency in skills of life saving. This design was used by the Royal Life Saving Society from 1938-1957. The obverse features the society’s logo and motto “Quemcunque Miserum Videris Hominem Scias” latin for “Whomsoever you see in distress, recognize in him a fellow man”. I never met Mr. McCall, but I know his family. As well as a member of the Royal Life Saving Society, he was a paratrooper in the second world war.
