King of Thronfeld
Woodland Defenders Part 2
Vierathan has a long imperial history, but since the Second Vieran Civil War, their military efforts have had to be focused on their homeland. The wars with House Guant and the human settlers to the west, combined with the immigration of Orcs from the North-East, the constant invasions by the Fallen Vieran from the East and the uprising and eventual ascension of the Attonights to the South left the Vieran with few options but to stay home.
The heart of the kingdom of Vierathan is conveniently located within a dense forest with the same name. For thousands of years, since the birth of the Vieran species by the Creators, the forest has been rich with powerful enchantments which only true Vieran can manipulate. The Woodland Defenders utilize the terrain to their full advantage, firing arrows from the shadows and sprinting across high up branches. Old songs describe armies comprised of hundreds of thousands of Vieran warriors, but after centuries of war, it is likely their numbers have weakened tenfold.
The Young King understands that while the Vieran remain in the woods, they pose no threat, but fewer men would die in fighting orcs should these ancient warriors join the fray.
