1951 True Men’s Adventure Magazine
Vintage February 1951 issue of men’s adventure magazine, True - the Man’s Magazine. While the majority of these magazines had covers with scantily clad women and antagonists that were always depicted as less than human, there was also a segment of the genre that depicted rugged men and/or wild animal covers and actually told real stories. While I prefer the former, as an art student I could still appreciate the illustration aspect of these covers and am sharing this for those that may be interested. All that’s missing from this cover is a question mark over the bear’s head. Looking back at it now the covers were always the best part of the magazine. It’s always a thrill when it’s from Vinnie DeVille!
