Owls are birds of prey; they hunt other animals and feed on their flesh. While stomach of the owl is capable of digesting the flesh, it fails to digest the fur, bones, teeth, feather and insect shells from that food. These indigestible parts are formed into a tight pellet inside the owl and then are later regurgitated (coughed up through the beak) by the bird. Owl pellet is used for educational purposes.
