Rouge H

Area calculations.

Note the Graphic Scale at lower right. I checked this, and also made an underlying structural grid (not shown) to verify that it was fairly accurate.

I cross-referenced this aerial image with one from Google Earth, upon which I used their "Ruler" function. The overall length of this huge building per the Ruler is 1,168'. I adjusted the image in CAD to match that dimension. I figure that's very close.

Further, I compared the scale with the shipping container trucks on site. At the bottom margin, you'll see my light-magenta rectangle, 8' x 50', over a skewed shipping container / truck trailer parked there.

The overall building area is hatched in brown, with a corresponding Area value at top. The area of the "green roof," planted in sedum, is a polyline crosshatched in gray, also with a corresponding total Area value, in the upper right.

To arrive at the true net area that is actually planted in sedum, I very carefully traced a complex polyline around all the boundaries, around the equipment, monitors, skylights and open pathway walks.

This is my latest best effort, superceding previous. I took pains to be as accurate as I could be, and triple-checked my work, revising as deemed necessary based on better source data.
