Alco RS-2 U.P. D.S. 1195
Alco RS-2 1:38 prototypical model of Union Pacific 1195 #76240 from 1949 built from LEGO. Last year I had erroneously made a 1:38 scale UP RS-3 with a number of inaccuracies. in September 2020 I started from scratch and modeled a specific Alco RS-2 (UP 1195) instead. Special attention was paid to designing the radiator and interior. It has AAR type b trucks with all axles powered. The Hood opens up to place either a model Alco 244 v12 4 cycle prime mover, or A battery box/control hub for motors and lights.Decals are locomotive and era specific. I also made some detailed instructions for this model just after I'd built it in September 2020. Instructions can be found here:
