2021-0306-incl ARCHES - Ravenna Park Bridge-105
Like bolts? This distinctive, ornate 1913 pedestrian bridge (originally built to bear the weight of cars, but unable to stand up to those demands by 1975) spans the ravine of Ravenna Park, Seattle. Designed by Frank M. Johnson, it’s known as both the Ravenna Park Bridge and the no-nonsense 20th Avenue NE Bridge -- a city landmark also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For me, it’s a place of wilderness, majesty, and solace. And an occasional gnarly run-in with a wild human or animal.
