Rosie engaged very well with the online class this lesson and she made some good work. Here crosshatched drawing is very 3D. Here I can see she looked very closely at where the shadows fell on the object and on the table behind, she changed the direction of the crosshatching on the different surfaces of her pencil case and this all contributes to the 3D effect. I would like her to use more variety of line thickness on the original outline next time. Here she does not use many soft thin lines, thin dark lines, or thick dark/soft lines. If she used more line variety she would achieve 3D results even without shadows! Rosie went onto draw a lovely personal work, it is of people living on different planets and flying up among the sun and moon. It makes me think of the future and what might happen! She used lots of different line combinations here, especially on the tree and on the dog. I want you to take some personal time at home this week Rosie to draw slowly from your imagination and see what you come u with!
