MM "To cap it all...!"

Macro Mondays 19-04-2021

Theme: Circles

Lens caps from the early days of the Asahi Pentax SLR.

Left to right the caps of:

preset Takumar 135mm f:3.5

preset Takumar 105 mm f:2.8

Auto-Takumar 105mm f:2.8

The preset Takumars have a 46mm filter-thread, the Auto-Takumar a 49mm thread. The silver cap of the Auto-Takumar sports the logo of the Asahi Optical Company.

The name "Takumar" is said to have been bestowed on the lenses in honour of the Japanese-American painter and photographer Takuma Kajiwara (1876-1960)

The big daddy of them all (in the background) is the cap of a Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 500mm f:4.5.

The overall width of the scene is just under 7cm.

Taken with a Super-Multi-Coated MACRO-TAKUMAR 100mm f:4

PENTAX K-1

HMM!

PS. My previous picture ("Sunset Suburban Fence") includes a comment on old Pentax lens caps.

If you are interested in TAKUMAR and other M-42 lenses, do have a glance at my albums:

[Note: The SMC Macro-Takumar 100mm f:4 is missing from the list of the "Pentax SMC" Group!]
