Yellow-breasted Antpitta (Grallaria flavotincta)
This little beauty was a lovely surprise at a little spot in the cloud forest of Ecuador just a few hours from Quito.
A local guide has turned his garden into a bird photography paradise with several hides and different setups. We were waiting patiently between bouts of activity when two of these individuals popped out of the undergrowth and started foraging in the open.
Have to be quick with these guys, they stop and perch beautifully but you never know how long they will stay before they dart off somewhere else so you had better be quick!
