Vyasadev Jew Bhagabat Tungi , Odisha is the brain child of Mr. Satyabrata Mishra and Vyasadev Jew Committee.They aim to promote and instill morality in the life of Indians through conducting “Bhagabat Tungis” at various places in the country . The Tungi consists of elite and learned vedic scholars. This tungi is more than 300 years old institution. The tungi is a testimony to the rich heritage and spirituality which the country possessed long back.
Bhagabat and Gita teaches us the value of Life .Both scriptures are indicators of our great Hindu culture. But the advent of modernisation has shadowed the presence of Bhagabat Tungi. The memories of having “Bhagabat Tungi” have been erased from the minds of the modern people. To revamp and revive this old age tradition , Mr satyabrata mishra took the pain of travelling across the length and breadth of the country so as to promote the awareness of the Bhagabat Tungi. To enlighten the ignorant mass of people, Vyasadev Jew Bhagabat Tungi organises on a regular basis various spiritual discourses and satsang at different places of the country. Vyasadev Jew Bhagabat Tungi (V.J.B.T) is a common platform where in every evening people of any colour caste, sex, creed come together to receive the nectarean instruction from Bhagabat and Gita towards leading a smoothful and stressfree life. Events like recitation of the Gita verses, Upanishads, and Bhagabat and spiritual bhajans are common phenomena for V.J.B.T.
The conception of V.J.B.T. took eons ago about the time of the carving of the three deities :- Lord Jagannath , Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra from the Daaru which came floating on the seashore. To rekindle the flame of Bhagabat Tungi among all the denizens of India, V.J.B.T has pledged to conduct a “Vishwa Shanti MahaYagna” in every state of the country. This mahayagna will unite all the learned young scholars across the country under one umbrella.
The aim of VJBT is to create a holistic and peaceful world to live in. It strives hard towards the implementation of the divine instructions of Bhagavat Gita in day to day life of the individuals. Initially the the implementation of the Bhagabat Tungi will be done at the rural level and then further will be extended to other parts of the country. V.J.B.T. strives hard to make self sustainable everyone not only spiritually but also materialistically. Doing this the age old cultural tradition is preserved for our future generations.
