Memory of ancient nature, 太古の自然の記憶

At the western end of the Nemoto coast of the Boso Peninsula, strangely shaped rocks are lined up. This landscape is the result of layers of mudstone and sandstone being deposited in layers, with the sandstone parts being eroded by waves over many, many years.

 

房総半島の根本海岸の西端には, 洗濯板の様な奇岩が並んでます。この景観は泥板岩と砂岩が層状に堆積し長い年月の間に砂岩部分が波で浸食されて出来たものです。干潮時に奇岩が浮かび上がる狙い時通りでしたが, 夕方になり土手雲が現れて焼けなかったのが残念。
