Nettle leaved bellflower (Campanula trachelium)
The nettle leaved bellflower loves dark places, such as the edges of woods, hedgerows and scrubland. The lavender blue flowers are found at the top of a thin stem, that can be up to a metre tall.
Photographer's notes: Shooting from this angle presents a set of challenges due to poor light, the long stamens and the shallow depth of field. As a compromise I chose to shoot directly in line with the main stamen to create a strong composition. Even in the stillest conditions the stem sways unpredictably. f3.3, 1/80th of a second, ISO 400.
