Sjoerd van Haaren
Always on the move
Complete translation of the poem by Ingmar Heytze:
Everybody needs to be at some place,
anywhere except from here,
where everything flows.
In movement lies the city,
as emptiness between here and there.
Houses where a stranger lives,
dreams that are dreamt by another person.
Places to go to,
or to move away from.
What a noise
in all those heads!
Everybody needs to be somewhere.
Seen at Leidseweg, near Utrecht Central Station: one of those places where everybody seems to be in a hurry.
I wonder: how would the world look like if we would all slow down? And act a bit more like human beings instead of human doings?
