One hundred and fifty years ago today, on April 14th, 1865 at approximately 10:13 p.m., as Abraham Lincoln sat with his wife and another couple watching the play "Our American Cousin" at Ford's Theater, he was shot by John Wilkes Booth.
Lincoln never regained consciousness from his coma, and died the next morning at 7:22 a.m., on April 15th.
Booth was shot and killed by Army troops on April 26th. His last words were "Useless...useless..."
"Now he belongs to the ages."
