Chippawa: Scott's Charge

Scott led his brigade against the British, advancing his flanks in order to enfilade them. Both sides fired away at each other for about half an hour, until Scott rode to the front of the American lines and yelled: "The enemy say that Americans are good at a long shot, but cannot stand the cold iron. I call upon you instantly to give a lie to this slander! Charge!" The Americans drove the Anglo-Canadian force from the field at the point of the bayonet.

In both the painting and my scene, the Colonel at the rear of the formation has a white feather in his bicorne, but Scott does not. Supposedly it was shot off as he rode to the front. If you zoom in on the painting closely, you'll see that the artist has painted a bullet hole in Scott's hat.
