a shy fox
i did many african trips but just one time i saw the cape fox ( vulpes chama ) .it is the only south african real fox as bat eared fox belong to another animal genus.cape fox is mainly nocturnal and shy so isnt easy to get photos of them.i'm arrived just in time, the fox is entering in to the den.
unfortunatly it's easier to see them dead on the road than alive in to the wild.
the big ears show clearly how they found their little prey.those foxes are quite small ,usually 3/4kgs .the main enemies are nocturnal predators like leopards, caracal and the giant eagle owl.
