Built in 1955 as a new main airport for Bergen (old one used to be Herdla seaplane airport). The airport runway, taxiways and terminals has been extended many times. The newest terminal opened in 2017 and was four times larger than the old ones, and we also got a new paralell taxiway in 2009 for easier operations in the peak hours.
