The Restless Stitcher
Star Baby Quilt
I tried my darnedest to get this quilt to sit flat, but the wind kept moving it. I finally gave up, especially as my fingers were freezing. It was a sadly grey, chilly day.
I designed this block, and originally intended to use all one background fabric. Alas I didn't have enough of the yellow, so I was forced to use the brown sashing. My intention was to make the stars and feature fabric look more like they were floating. I may try it again that way to see if I will like the block better. The contrasting sashing just didn't do it for me. The stars were also really tedious to make. I had to put them away for a while before I could summon more enthusiasm.
I used a variegated rainbow thread to do some freemotion loops and stars.
