Lilac Quilt

I finished this quilt quite a while ago, but I was very determined to photograph it alongside actual lilacs (and the lilac season is all too brief). It took me 3 goes to finally take the right shots- direct sunlight tends to really wash out a quilt, and it also really showcases any wrinkles or fold marks. I aimed for early morning this time, slanted at just the right angle for this particular fence. My goal this summer to photograph all my so far undocumented projects, the bulk of which are charity quilts like this one.

 

I don't know whose design this is, but I got the idea from another quilter. It seemed like a perfect pattern for this line of lilac fabrics (the back has yet another lilac fabric from the same line. I try to coordinate as much as possible).
