The beginning of the end of the nightmare…….
So this snapshot taken using my iPhone is simply the way to best describe the journey after the RAC had got us motoring again…this is where we got onto the A87 I believe 🤔 to go to the campsite Jonathan had booked for one night… As we entered the road it was beginning to get dark and night fell quickly…it was soon pitch black with only those reflectors on the crash barriers either side of the road. I cannot begin to describe how much I hated it. It felt like hurtling down a crevasse with only those reflective lights that disappeared as fast as you passed them. Jonathan said after a while..during which I could hardly breathe I was hating it so much “ keep your eyes peeled now because the Satnav shows we are approaching our destination “
I said drily “well if it here it means we have to climb a bloody mountain because we appear to be in a Canyon “ well I had my iPhone Satnav on as well and that clear voice came over both
“ Your destination is straight ahead “ Well I fell sick with fear and do not ever wish to replicate that Journey. Jonathan sounding puzzled “well where the hell is it then ?”did nothing to help at all.
I noticed from the Satnav there was an Inn ahead so just nipped my buttocks to the seat and crossed everything I could cross to reach that inn safely…We did indeed and the Inn ( The Cluinne Inn ) kindly showed us where we could park up for the night )
So Dr Mackay and Mrs Reilly were duly booked in for bed & breakfast for the princely sum of £216 😱the caravan site booking that was already paid was £35 and our evening meal was around £120 all in all a £370 one night stop. I have to stop complaining because Jonathan didn’t bat an eyelid and thoroughly enjoyed his meal of Haggis Neeps and Tatties followed by a pudding and I had a simple stew followed by a pudding. All very nice but honestly it will take a long while to swallow that particular mistake or whatever it was.. Jonathan is never ever ever in a flap about anything and thought the price was very good value for money but I keep thinking how much I could buy on TEMU for that amount of money lol 😂
Ahh well we got up after a good ( expensive ) night’s sleep and carried on down country. No more breakdowns and my chuntering and moaning about it is lessening a little with each passing day….THE END
