Short comparison between Pixel 3 and iPhone XS

Even though it is 2020 and it is going to be a year of new #flagship phones that will be more advanced than 2019, most of the 2019 flagship phones still cost their launch prices. In this scenario, you can consider buying a 2018 flagship phone if you want a phone with strong specs at lower costs.

In this article, we are going to compare Pixel 3 and Phone XS<, both of which are the great phones.

Design and Display

The first thing that you see in a phone is its display; and both of the #phones are great in this department. The iPhone XS display is the same as its predecessor, iPhone X. It has an edge-to-edge display of 5.8 inches with a resolution of 2346 x 1125 pixels. The construction of this mobile phone consists of surgical grade stainless steel, which surely makes the body of the phone plenty strong. The phone has an IP68 rating, meaning that it is highly resistant to dust and water. This phone can survive under 2 meters depth of water for about half an hour. There are three color variants this phone comes in; i.e. gold, silver and grey.

Pixel 3 is a great Google Pixel phone from the perspective of its looks, but yet it is not up to the standards of iPhone XS. Overall, you will find the two-tone gloss and matte finish back really good to look at, but it’s certainly not something you may find worth staring at. This phone, too, comes with an IP68 rating. And there are three colors this phone is available in; i.e. ‘Just Black’, ‘Clearly White’ and ‘Not Pink’. The 5.5-inch screen of this phone is based on a 2160 x 1080 Full HD+ flexible OLED display. The phone’s physical footprint is smaller than that of iPhone XS; and it also doesn’t have an edge-to-edge display. Unlike Pixel 3XL, Pixel 3 doesn’t have a notch.

Battery performance

At the time of its launch, iPhone XS was claimed to have an “all-day battery life”. Based on this claim by Apple, you should have no trouble using the features of this phone all day as long as you charge it every night. This phone has a practical battery life of 14 hours on a single charge.

The battery life of Pixel 3 is 12 hours, which certainly is not bad at all. However, many power users have found this phone to be running short on the battery juice by the evening.

Features

Both of the phones have their own sets of features. Both have different operating systems. The iPhone XS comes with the #iOS12 which is loaded with the plenty useful features. The feature that you may find very attractive in this regard is the phone’s support for AR.

The operating system which the Pixel 3 comes loaded with is the Android 9 Pie. It is an equivalently capable operating system. The best part of this OS in the Pixel 3 is its ability to do better machine learning. This ability of machine learning helps the users getting their apps streamlined in much better and intelligent manner.

Camera

The camera hardware of iPhone XS includes two 12MP lenses in the rear. One of those lenses is a standard wide angle lens and the second one is a telephoto lens which allows you to take close up shots of the objects up to 2X zoom. On the front there is a 7MP lens which allows you to take high quality selfie shots.

From the perspective of hardware, Pixel 3 may look a bit inferior as compared to iPhone XS. It has a 12.2MP rear camera and an 8MP camera on the front. What may come as surprise to many is that the front camera has a wide angle lens, which is pretty unconventional for the selfie camera trends.

From the perspective of quality of pictures, both of the phones do great. But Pixel 3 has AI working in the backend as the camera processing feature. That makes the stills of this phone even better than those taken by iPhone XS.
