Fun With the Digital Projector

Great way to deal with being unable to attend movies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our friend Alison inspired us to buy a digital projector and portable screen. Thanks to this, my wife & I have been able to enjoy safe, at-home movie nights with a few friends or a night in with each other. Really just as good as going to the movies...even the popcorn is pretty tasty!

Finally broke down and bought a proper pullout screen; opens from 60” to 80” diagonally; testing it with “Blade Runner 2049”.

For our first big movie night together with the new projector (complete with popcorn), my wife and I decided to try a Star Wars movie, particularly the underrated “Solo” from 2018.

JAWS...on blu-ray, on the big (home) screen, as it was meant to be enjoyed!

ALIEN digitally projected on the pullout screen; looked fantastic! I’ve only seen ALIEN once in theaters, but this was damn close.

Outdoor COVID-friendly movie night; our friends and I decided to watch “Mulan” (2020), which my wife & I bought from DisneyPlus. Everyone enjoyed it. Screw the critics. It’s fun.

#Halloween2020 “Tales From The Hood” (1995) is one of my favorite horror anthology flicks. Clarence Wiliams III as “Mr. Simms” is a force of nature.

#Halloween2020: Continuing my Halloween horror-binge, next up was 1985’s “Re-Animator”... much grizzlier when watched on a 7 ft. screen.

#Halloween2020: “Trick ‘R Treat” (2009); an underrated gem of a horror anthology. Love how the stories all manage to directly connect and intertwine with each other. Quite brilliant.
