Between the gorgeous visuals and immersive musical score from Jerry Goldsmith, TMP is more an experience than a movie, and I’m fine with that. Never before and rarely since has Star Trek conveyed the scale and awe of the universe; it’s more like a planetarium show hosted by old friends.
