There were quite a few photos of models he'd built by his own hand. We talked for a nice while as he told that he and Ralph McQuarrie (the late production artist) were hired for "The Star Wars" (original title) even before Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) was formed in 1975. Cantwell was asked to head up ILM, but couldn't because of a prior contract. It was really cool to see him reflect back upon his work in real time! What an experience...
