After easter holidays 2021, the Waldenburger Bahn will be closed for 1 1/2 years due to re-gauging from current 750 mm to usual 1m gauge to gain compatibility with the rest of BLT tram network (although there is no direct connection at least for the next decade).
The push-pull sets, built in 1986 and 1993, will be sold to a czech narrow gauge railway. The classical set of the last years consists of one BDe 4/4 motor car and two driving trailers, with longer and shorter trains possible in peak hours. One of that sets, with BDe 4/4 12, is rolling near Lampenberg-Ramlinsburg along Frenke river.
