Vintage 1 / 2024
This large and luxurious radio receiver was manufactured by the Nora company in Berlin and was an export model for Belgium. It was probably built in 1937 and was intended for operation with batteries. It has 5 tubes and a valuable and heavy wooden case. Of particular interest is the dial, the glass of which is still completely intact. In addition to numerous French stations from this period, such as the private stations Radio-Normandie and Radio-Cité, there are also long-wave and short-wave stations, such as Pittsburgh and Schenectady in the USA, Radio Coloniale for the French possessions and the radio amateurs! I found this well-preserved gem in Belgium years ago and tried it out; it works, but would need to be overhauled, which I decided not to do in view of its age.
