Moths to a Flame...

 

Sometimes in life we are drawn to the wrong people, like moths to flames...

 

Stormy went to the window and opened it just a crack, then turned off the lights. The bright room was plunged into darkness. She struck a match and lit a candle.

 

In the half glow of the candle, Stormy looked at the window and saw the moths lining up outside, fighting to get to the fire, beating their wings against the glass.

 

Then a moth flew into the room. It flew around the candle flame, once, twice, three times, and dove into the fire. Stormy watched as its wings curled up and it died.

 

Another moth followed it into the room. Before it could dive to its death, Stormy reached up and caught it in mid-flight, the moth’s wings still beating against her fingers.

 

Knowing the fate of the Moth ..Stormy took the deepest breath she had ever taken, and blew out the candle.

 

Sometimes we need to be brave enough to break the cycle to survive, sometimes its better to be your own Valentine.
