Starting Gravitas Part 22

Mercury drops off Slade and drives away. Slade looks around noticing the other vehicles. Slade walks towards the door and Michael steps out in front of the door.

 

Michael: (the pianist of DW)*in a lowered voice* You shouldn't be here, Seth.

Slade: I told you not to call me by that name, Michael.

Michael: turn around and leave now.

Leon: (the bassist of DW) *walks up and pushes Michael out of the way* You didn't get the memo?

Slade: What memo?

Leon: You're out of the band, and the gang is under my control.

Michael: *stands back up* You didn't have to-

Leon: *interrupting Michael* Do me a favor and go get Seth here, his parting gifts.

Michael: *nods and goes inside shooting a sad glance at Slade, mouthing "I'm sorry"*

Slade: This is my fucking band and I starting the gang. you can't kick me out!

Leon: Newsflash, you were in prison for a year. You lost your right to claim that. Bumblebee Records don't want to associate with you. In order for the band to keep around, we had to kick you out.

Michael: *walks back out holding a small box, and rest of the members* I have the gifts.

Leon: Thank you, Michael.

Luxdoc: (the guitarist of DW) ...

Charlie: (the drummer of DW) *holding a CD* ...

Leon: As a parting gift we offer you a knife. *looks at Michael*

Michael: *hands the box to Slade*

Slade: *reluctantly takes the box, placing it in his blazer pocket*

Leon: A CD of our newest album. *looks at Charlie*

Charlie: *hands Slade the CD* The disc is autographed by all of us.

Slade: *looks at the cd and album case*

Leon: And as or the last parting gift, the DW van. *looks at Luxdoc*

Luxdoc: *reaches into pocket tossing a set of keys to Slade*

Slade: *catches the keys* So that's it, our friendship means nothing?

 

Charlie, Luxdoc, and Michael look at the ground saying nothing. Leon is looking impatient.

 

Leon: It's because of our friendship that I give you the van, but you must paint over it.

Slade: *walks over to the driver's side and looks at everyone* You know, it was a mistake hiring you, Leon. I will make you pay. *gets in the van starting it up, and driving away*

Leon: Time to go do our last tour. Not sure why our last set is to open for Gravitas in England, but we got to do it.

Charlie: how are we going to transport my drumkit and the amps?

Leon: my truck has the room for it, and Michal can drive his guitar and my bass in his trunk.

 

 

Ways down the road Slade stops at a red light. Mercury pulls up motioning him to follow. Slade nods and follows Mercury to an abandoned mechanic shop, where Simon is sitting in his car. Mercury, Slade, and Simon get out of their vehicles.

 

Slade: What's this about.

Simon: Welcome to Nightelligence.

Slade: What?

Mercury: Our boss has decided to hire you while you were in prison.

Simon: He will explain more to you, but go to this address. *hands Slade a piece of paper*

 

 

Slade takes the piece of paper and notices Mercury getting into his car and driving off. Simon does the same. He looks at the paper. He drives off and comes across Officer Morgan. He stops still pissed at Leon, he pulls out the knife and stabs the officer. He realizes what he did and leaves the knife behind peeling out from the scene. He continues to the address for his meeting with the leader of Nightelligence.
