Paul-Löbe-Haus

Nur wenige Meter vom Reichstagsgebäude entfernt liegt das Paul-Löbe-Haus. Benannt nach dem letzten demokratischen Reichstagspräsidenten der Weimarer Republik, gehört das lichte Gebäude im Spreebogen zum „Band des Bundes“, das die beiden früher durch die Mauer getrennten Teile der Hauptstadt über die Spree hinweg verbindet. Das „Band des Bundes“ besteht aus dem neuen Kanzleramt, dem Paul-Löbe-Haus auf der Westseite des Flusses und dem Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus auf der Ostseite.
Das rund 200 Meter lange und 102 Meter breite, von Stefan Braunfels entworfene Gebäude dient vor allem für drei Arbeitsbereiche des Deutschen Bundestages: die Ausschüsse, die Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und die zentrale Besucherbetreuung.

The Paul Loebe House is located just a few meters from the Reichstag building. Named after the last democratic President of the Reichstag of the Weimar Republic, the bright building in the Spreebogen is part of the "Band des Bundes" (Federal Belt), which connects the two parts of the capital, formerly separated by the Wall, across the Spree River. The "Band des Bundes" consists of the new Chancellery, the Paul Loebe House on the west side of the river, and the Marie-Elisabeth Lueders House on the east side.
The building, which is approximately 200 meters long and 102 meters wide and designed by Stefan Braunfels, primarily serves three areas of work within the German Bundestag: the committees, public relations and central visitor services.
