Daisy tore her CCL

The first six weeks back here were pure bliss for Daisy and Bruno. Bruno finally back around so many great dogs and for Daisy to finally meet so so many compared to Tacoma. We were all taking long walks along the river and it's been such a delightful change for all of us. That was until Daisy, doing nothing strenuous at all, tore her left CCL. This was about 8 weeks ago now. For six weeks post-injury I did not sleep in my own bed, staying with her to keep her from making the injury worse. She received very caring physical therapy at Integrative Pet Care here in Chicago. Some of you may remember that it's a miracle that she's even still alive because of being born with a tiny malformed liver full of shunts and no gallbladder. Because of that, she cannot have the surgery to repair her CCL as she may not survive the anesthesia. So all this fun, the running, the roughhousing with other dogs, the long walks all has come to an abrupt halt. She's walking fairly well now and I've stopped carrying her up the steps into the house, but I know she has pain and is unhappy to have her activity level so dramatically restricted.
