This image has quickly became one of my favorite images of our trip and of the year, even moreso because it was an image I imagined in my head walking around London, finally found a location which matched the look I wanted, and had my wife watch for traffic so I could stand dead center in the crosswalk and compose this just right. Ironically, the success of this image inspired the composition of the Burano photo I posted on New Year's Day which I took later in the trip!
Most who know my photography know that my background is in black and white film. It take a lot of self control to not strip all the color out of the world I see around me; but this was meant to be monochrome from the moment I captured it. Another good test of my processing abilities, this one required a light touch, just a little bit of dodging for the sky, and small exposure tweaks.
Happy Friday to everyone, we've made it to the end of the first work week of the year! Rest assured, I have far more than just landscapes to show you this year, just worked out that these three landscapes are right at the top of my list of favorites!
