La Serenissima .... The Magic of Venice

La Serenissima or The Most Serene One...as Venice is called. The real Venetians are being driven away from their homes as thousands of tourists descend upon the magical city each day from all over the world. 30 years ago, the population was 120,000. Now it is less than 60,000... typical no. of tourists each day - 80,000 !! Only the old people, who already have their homes, or the very rich, can afford to stay in Venice - one of the costliest cities in the world.
