Linn Cove Viaduct December

The view over the Linn Cove Viaduct in December on the famous Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina USA.

The Linn Cove Viaduct is made of 153 concrete segments weighing 50 tons each over a steep curve at Grandfather Mountain.

It was the last section of the Blue Ridge Parkway completed in 1987 after 20 years of debates by environmentalists and landowners.

The viaduct is built as an overhanging bridge with simple columns designed with environmentally-friendly construction, instead of destroying the side of the mountain and harming the natural wildlife!
