Bokeh in Black & White
Right before the war started in Ukraine I purchased a Kiev 4a rangefinder with a Helios 103 53mm f1.8 lens attached and shipped from Kiev in Ukraine. I liked the looks of the camera when I received it but it ended up in my cabinet and never was used. I just now ran a roll of film through it and was very surprised by the results. It’s not the easiest camera to use as it has to be held a certain way to not block the rangefinder and there are a few other little quirks but with this lens it makes for some really nice photos. Contrasty and a little soft but has a different look than any other camera I have used. I think this would make for some really nice, moody portraits shots. This photo of the bench I shot using Lomography Earl Grey film 100 ASA developed in Kodak D-76 1:1 for 9 minutes at 68 degrees F the camera setting was at 125 f1.8
