'Sparse Grazing' on a Winter's Day
Three years ago last week, like most of the UK, we had a very heavy snowfall. Despite the continued slow thaw, these 'Forlorn Sheep' were still struggling with finding sufficient grazing in their field near my home in Betws yn Rhos, Conwy, North Wales.
Pleasingly, the kind farmer had earlier brought a large straw bale to help.
In the distance are the long since abandoned limestone quarries that overlook the village of Rhyd y Foel. Beyond is the North Wales Coast and the Irish Sea.
