NGC 6357 - The Lobster Nebula in HOO with the SeeStar S50
Captured from my front yard in the northern Melbourne suburbs, this image reveals the sprawling beauty of NGC 6357, also known as the Lobster Nebula. Nestled in the constellation Scorpius, this star forming region glows with ionized gases and intricate filaments of dust shaped by stellar winds and radiation.
The nebula showcases rich textures of glowing reds and smoky tendrils, sculpted by young, massive stars in the heart of the cluster Pismis 24. From my vantage point in the Southern Hemisphere, the view offers a striking contrast between celestial grandeur and suburban serenity.
A tribute to the universe’s ability to surprise and inspire—right from the quiet comfort of my driveway.
