IC4628 - The Prawn Nebula - HOO - Explored December 18, 2023
Prawn Nebula, IC 4628, is an emission nebula located in the Sagittarius Arm of the Milky Way, around 6,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation Scorpius. This images is 3 hours total integration time 1 hour each of Ha, Oiii and Sii. The Oiii did not pick up any nebulosity, and the Sii was very dim, It needs a lot more time on those channels.
The data for the Prawn was captured a few months ago when we had a run of clear nights in Melbourne. I was able to capture the Ha on one night, the Oiii on the next, but when trying for the Sii, got clouded out, and so never finished the SHO project. Hopefully I can add the the Sii next year and finish the SHO image.

• Skywatcher NEQ6 Mount
• ZWO ASI1600mm Cmos Camera cooled to -10'c
• ZWO EFW7 Filter Wheel
• Baader 36mm unmounted Ha, Oiii and Sii 7nm Filters
• Orion ST80 80mm Guide Scope
• ZWO ASI120mm mini Guide Camera
• ZWO ASIAIR Pro for full automation
• Processed in PixInsight
