Mistical Woods

Located near Two Bridges on Dartmoor, Wistman's Woods is a site of special scientific interest and is one of only three high-altitude oakwoods on Dartmoor.

 

It is likely that the woods are left-over from the ancient forest that covered much of Dartmoor c.7000BC, before hunter/gatherers cleared it around 5000BC.
