Driving back to Bakersfield, we stopped for breakfast at Lilo's Cafe off the I-40 and on historic Route 66. We were served with a generous portion of chorizo and eggs with sautéed potatoes and refried beans on the side. It was so good! The menu is varied, and the prices are fair. Best of all, the server was welcoming and friendly. The diner had a retro feel with framed photos covering the walls. I recommend this place for anyone traveling on I-40 on their way to the Grand Canyon. One of the hidden jewels on Route 66.
